Darrin is a member of the Minnesota State and American Bar Associations and is admitted to practice before the Minnesota Supreme Court, the Federal District Court for the District of Minnesota and the United States Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit. He serves on the Boards of Directors of the Center for Child Abuse Prevention and Treatment Center, the Alpha Gamma Rho Educational Foundation and Roots for Youth.

Born in San Jose, California, Darrin received his B.S. in Applied Economics in Agriculture and his B.A. in Political Science from the University of Minnesota. He is a Captain in the Minnesota National Guard, serving as the Battalion Maintenance Officer, 1/94th ARMOR. He received his law degree in 1996 from the University of Minnesota Law School, where he was a member of the Law Review. Darrin served on the University of Minnesota Board of Regents from 1989 until 1995. Darrin served two years as a law clerk to Judge Gerald W. Heaney of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit prior to joining Briggs and Morgan in 1998.
